BAE Systems Australia choose MADe: for Land 400

MADe: to optimise sustainment for proposed Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle

MELBOURNE, Australia, September 27, 2016

Australian software developer PHM Technology (PHMT) today announced that its MADeTM software has been selected by BAE Systems Australia to support the design of the Sustainment program for one of Australia's largest defence programs.

BAE Systems Australia, the Patria Group of Finland and BAE Systems Hägglunds of Sweden, bid the AMV35 for Land 400 Phase 2 (Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle program) and were selected by the Australian Department of Defence's Capability Acquisition and Support Group (CASG) to conduct a Risk Mitigation Activity over the next 12 months.

BAE Systems Australia will use MADeTM to design the AMV35 Sustainment program for the Australian Defence Force specific platform configuration, mission profiles and operating environments. MADeTM is an integrated engineering analysis and decision support solution that enables trade studies on Reliability, Safety and Maintainability attributes that can be utilised concurrently at any stage of the product lifecycle.

"MADeTM provides us with the ability to optimise the Total Cost of Ownership for Australian conditions and requirements" said Mr Julian Bennett, Vehicle Sustainment Manager at BAE Systems Australia. "The simulation capabilities of MADe means that we can work with our customer to identify and validate alternative maintenance regimes that will both reduce operational risk and the cost of sustainment".

"BAE Systems Australia is one of the largest global producers of combat vehicles and their support solutions," said Chris Stecki, CEO of PHM Technology, "their decision to use MADeTM on one of the largest Australian defence program demonstrates that MADeTM has unique and cost-effective analysis capabilities for defence systems and equipment."
